Growth for Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (GSAI) is a dynamic non-governmental organization registered in Nigeria, committed to catalyzing positive change in the agricultural landscape. At the forefront of sustainable development, GSAI empowers smallholder farmers and various agriculture stakeholders to embrace environmentally responsible practices, fostering food security, and promoting resilience in the face of changing global dynamics.

Our Core Focus and Target
GSAI’s primary focus is to facilitate the transition of African farmers from small-scale production to sustainable large commercial scale. The organization is dedicated to:
- Improving the livelihoods and economic value of African farmers.
- Reducing the growing food production and demand gap in Africa.
- Enhancing the quality of farm produce available for consumption on the continent.
Our Objectives
GSAI is strategically positioned to achieve its mission through the following objectives:
To contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria
Our programs are implemented with an aim of achieving specifically SDG 1 (Zero Hunger), SDG 2 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good health and wellbeing), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Descent Work and Economic growth), SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the goals) in Nigeria.
Market Linkages: Establish and strengthen market linkages for smallholder farmers to ensure fair and sustainable economic returns.
To Promote Sustainable Agriculture: Implement projects and initiatives that encourage the adoption of sustainable farming practices among smallholder farmers.
Advocacy: Advocate for policies that support sustainable agriculture and address the challenges faced by smallholder farmers.
Capacity Building: Provide training and education to farmers, extension workers, and other stakeholders to enhance their skills and knowledge in sustainable agriculture.
Access to Resources: Facilitate access to essential resources, including seeds, fertilizers, and technology, to improve agricultural productivity.
Operational Beacon
Our programs target 4 identified operational beacons which include Structural Integrity, Expertise, Resource Mobilization and Personal discipline code named S.E.R.P which we have identified as the foundational basis for the sustainable and profitable expansion of any agro-business. Hence all our projects are implemented around these four beacons;
STRUCTURAL INTERGRITY; Any Farm that intends to upscale its production to a higher capacity and profitability must run as a well structured agro-business with all its major components following the principles of business management and operations. We will help African farmers to setup their farms into structurally sound agro businesses.
EXPERTISE; to compliment a properly structured business, every farm must have deep professional knowledge on its chosen field of operations. We will help African farmers have access to quality information, trainings and capacity development in their chosen field of operations.
RESOURCE MOBILISATION; African Farmers have over the years yearned for Need based support for resources that will aid effective production system scale up. Resources such as technology, machineries, Agro Inputs, systems and processes, finances etc. can have major impact on the profitability and production capacity of any agro enterprise. We will help African farmers get access to these resources and also guide them on how to maximally utilize them for efficient output.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT; With the availability of resources, in a well structured agrobusiness setting and expertise, the Farmer must posses unique personal skills and competencies that will enable him/her navigate the inroads of farming and business. We will develop solutions that will equip farmers with the necessary strong and soft skills to become a strong player in the global food production system.
