Green Careers Advocacy Project (GCAP)

An educational and sensitization project that aims to use different educational, sensitization and awareness techniques to inspire young people to pick interest in various innovative and profitable careers in sustainable agriculture. The project objective is to add at least 500, 000 young innovative professionals to the Nigerian food systems value chain thereby increasing the systems efficiency and capacity which will in turn support farmers to produce more and earn more. The GCAP components include

  • Webinars
  • Physical training workshops
  • Social media essay competition
  • Street interview and documentary vox pop

Sustainable Agriculture Advocates Fellowship (SAAF)

This is a continuous 3 months long fellowship program that will rigorously train and equip selected youths via lectures, tasks, capstone projects etc. with in-depth knowledge of sustainable agriculture concepts and advocacy skills with an aim of deploying them to farm communities and farmer clusters to carry out continued sensitization to rural farmers within their communities. The 1st batch cohort of the project which will began in November 2024 has a major objective to raise local networks of young people who will consistently advocate for adoption of sustainable agricultural practices within their community. They will be grassroots sensitization and advocacy agents for sustainable agriculture. The project will have the following components

  • Fellowship course training
  • Fellowship capstone project
  • Structuring of the Sustainable Agriculture Advocates City hub (SAACH)

Nigeria Farmers Townhall Summit (NIFATS)

This is proposed to be an all-inclusive 3 days (6th – 8th June 2025) National town hall summit for farmers from all over Nigeria to converge and spotlight crucial issues affecting the agricultural sector with focus on the primary production subsector. The key activities during the summit will include;

  • Farmers capacity development workshops/ Master classes
  • Nigeria Food Systems General Assembly
  • Sustainable Agriculture themed Keynote lectures and Panel sessions
  • Innovative Food systems Exhibition
  • Commemoration of World Food Safety Day
  • Sustainable agriculture awards and dinner night
  • SAAF Graduation
  • SAAN City hub inauguration/induction of pioneer members

Sustainable Farmers Community Training (SFCT)

This will be a physical and practically oriented quarterly training project for farmers in various farming clusters within our target areas with an aim to develop their technical capacities in the understanding and adoption of key sustainable agriculture concepts and practices using the GSAI Sustainable agriculture Workbook. The 2nd quarter training will also be used to commemorate Int’l day of plant health (May 12) while the 4th quarter training will be used to commemorate the world soil day (Dec 5)

Sustainable Agri-Business Development Project (SADP)

This is a 10 month agribusiness support project that will aim to support the establishment and setup of model agribusiness farm ventures with standard operating business systems and components in place. The project will take all its 50 beneficiaries through a 3 phase stage which include;

  • Setup and structuring of 50 agribusinesses
  • Business and technical capacity development
  • Farm setup funding

Media for Agricultural Development Project (M4ADP)

This project seeks to utilise media channels to develop the agricultural sector by improving access to information, spotlighting innovations and showcasing groundbreaking success stories in the agricultural sphere. This project will work with the following components to achieve its target objectives;

  • Agriculture for today and tomorrow TV program
  • Sustainable Agric Blog
